The beach faces northeast; probably most sailable in some variation of north winds, but less in southwest. There is plenty of grass for rigging. With winds from the northeast there can be some great chop here. The local power plant warms the water all year round, so even on cold days the water stays about 70 degrees. This is a very popular spot during the winter, and very favorable during northers.

From Windsurfing Sports, continue down NASA Rd 1 toward the Bay. Turn right at Hwy 146 and drive about 8 miles to Bacliff where you turn left on Main St. Drive down to the Bay and take a right on Bayshore Blvd. You will see the spillway on the left, so turn into the park area just after crossing a small bridge.
